Audu Bulama Bukarti Esq. holds a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, Bayero University Kano were he currently teaches at the Department of International Law and Jurisprudence. He was called to the Nigerian Law School in 2012 where he was elected the President of Student Representative Council.
Bukarti is a Human Right Activist, a Social Commentator and the Executive Director of the Center for Citizens Action and Peace Advocacy (CAPA).
He became the Ameer of Muslim Students Society of the University in 2008 during his second year and held the position until his graduation in 2011. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he was elected the President of Student Representative Council.
He remains a major contributor to civil society’s movement for peace and social justice both internationally and locally and through his law practice, where the majority of cases he has taken relate to fundamental human rights abuses, or labour-work place rights and cases bordering on societal abuse on the poor and vulnerable especially pensioners, women, and children with more than 60% of the suits being on pro bono basis.
