Abubakar Muhammad Sani is a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in the Faculty of Education, Department of Arts and Social Science Education.
He had his secondary education at Government College, Kaduna (1983), and then obtained a Diploma in Accountancy from Ahmadu Bello University (1986). He worked as Book-Keeper in the Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority, in the former Kano State. He later proceeded to the Islamic University of Madinah, in Saudi Arabia, in 1992 where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Shari’ah (1996), Masters in Islamic Theology (2001) and PhD in Islamic Theology from the same university (2009).
He had worked in the Islamic Education Bureau of the Jigawa State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. He is currently the Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque, Jigawa State. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Council on Takaful Insurance in the National Insurance Commission. He has attended various local and international conferences.
