Yassin Garba Maisikeli is a member of the Supreme Council of the Qadiriyyah Sufi Order in Nigeria as well as adviser on Science & Technology. He received his formal Islamic education at the famous Madrasat Ulumuddeen in Kano city. He also received training in Electronics & Communications engineering at the Kano State Polytechnic, 1983, British National Radio & Electronics School, Berkshire, England, 1984 and Southern College of Technology, Georgia, USA. 1994.
Malam Yassin coordinates various projects for the Qadiriyyah Sufi Order in Nigeria including its environmental action plans. He played a key role in the activities of the Green Pilgrimage Network, an international city-faith, joint action group on the environment and the formation of Kano city chapter. Malam Yassin also does IT consulting. He has translated and published two works on Sufism in Hausa in the years 2008 & 2011 and another one on the Green Hajj Guide, 2011.
Malam Yassin is passionate in arts and sciences including agriculture, poetry, calligraphy, photography, space science and conservation. He has travelled far and wide promoting sustainable development and representing the Qadiriyyah Sufi Order in Nigeria in many international events.
